Our Story – The Legacy of Craftsmanship
At El Zorro Tailoring, our story begins long before the doors ever opened in Kelowna—it begins with a legacy.
Founded by Master Tailor Samuel Galvez, El Zorro Tailoring is rooted in generations of craftsmanship. Born in Santiago, Chile, Samuel was introduced to the art of tailoring at a young age, inspired by his mother, a skilled dressmaker, and his grandmother, a pioneering tailor in her time. He formally trained as a master tailor at just 14 years old, dedicating his life to mastering the precision, discipline, and artistry of the craft.
With decades of experience across Chile and Canada, Samuel brought his expertise to Kelowna, where he established El Zorro Tailoring as a place where tradition meets modern need. Over the years, the business evolved alongside the fashion industry—shifting from handcrafted custom garments to highly specialized alterations as fast fashion changed the way people dress.
Yet, through every change, one thing has remained constant: a commitment to true craftsmanship. In an era where clothing is often disposable, El Zorro stands as a rare continuation of a time-honoured trade—one that values quality, fit, and the personal connection between garment and wearer.
Today, El Zorro Tailoring is more than a tailoring service—it is a living tradition. Every piece worked on carries decades of knowledge, artistry, and passion, ensuring that the craft of tailoring continues to thrive for future generations.
